The cats at our apartment are very wild. They won't let us get near to pet them. |
Sister Markham found these two cats napping between the bars and the screens of our door. |
This hawker is selling tropical fish in quart bottles. Note the horse grazing by the street. |
Does it surprise anyone that Elder Markham has found some koi fish to talk with! |
There are lots of different birds in Ghana. We see many in cages, like this parrot, but we also see them in the wild as we travel around the country. |
This sign made us think of Thanksgiving time at home. | Down the road we found the gobblers! |
The hooded vulture is a common sight in Ghana. The see them on the church building... |
.. and around our apartment complex. |
Around the villages we see flocks of vultures like in these two palm trees. How many can you count? |
This is a closer view of the tree on the right. |
One evening while Elder Markham was doing the dishes, there was a stand off in our back yard. A crow, a vulture and a cat all appeared interested in some food (it looked like macaroni and cheese) that Babba had left on the walk. When one would move toward the food, another would scare him away. As the sun sank in the West, the crow left for home hungry, and the cat eventually got bored. So the vulture was left to lick the platter clean---which he did! |
A little action! |
Patience is a vulture! |
